  19. Ok, well, since my last message, I've discovered that in fact the 
  20. installer script doesn't install everything! Bummer. If you go back to 
  21. the CDROM, only in the CONT32 directory, there is an HIIP.p plugin. If 
  22. you add this one, then the Loaders sort of work automatically, but not 
  23. properly. You also have to copy all the loaders and savers from the CDROM 
  24. to your HD with Filemanager.

  26. It loaded one Softimage format image, but it only had an Alpha channel, 
  27. and it stripped off the Alpha channel, and loaded black. Other Softimage 
  28. pics it choked on and said unknown format. It will load YUV files, but it 
  29. seems to re-assign colour channels in weird and wonderful ways. It 
  30. doesn't even properly reload its own YUV files that it writes.

  32. Sigh. PC users should feel nothing of this, but if you want to 
  33. incorporate it into a professional SGI environment, it ain't ready yet.
